The most common color for stainless steel is silver, which is typical of hypoallergenic surgical steel. This material can also be gold-plated, faithfully imitating the hue of gold, while being less expensive. Last but not least, stainless steel can be finished in a rosy copper hue, a new color that is currently very much in vogue.

Precious, semi-precious and fine gemstones also come in a wide variety of hues. Crystal and zircon can be transparent, while amethyst comes in various shades of violet and mauve. Garnet is often dark red, while onyx is a deep black. As a result, creoles and other jewels with stones are highly variable in terms of color. Thanks to their many colors, natural stones can easily be combined with other materials such as metals.

Natural materials include seashells, with their soft hues. Natural wood, meanwhile, comes in different shades of gray, ochre or brown, depending on the species used.
